Careful Planning PDF Print E-mail

Sunday was an outdoor shoot. We carefully planned it so we would avoid the rain, watching the weather forecasts and keeping an eye on the clouds above.

Which was utterly useless since when we got into the hills around Athens it decided to open up and drench us all. We got wet. The equipment got wet and the dog got wet. But then again, he enjoys sitting in puddles so he didn't mind as much as we did.

The location was where we take the dog for a walk most days, so it just seemed right to include the dog in the scene. In the finished film he'll be there, running about doing dog like stuff and his name on the credits. Do they include animal names on IMDB?

So, although we all got wet, it turned out well. What we were actually filming here were the penultimate scenes of the film and the rain and dark clouds did provide a decent atmosphere for the kind of effect we are after.

As the first of the outdoor shoots we were unlucky in that much of the time we wanted to be filming we were stuck in cars waiting for the downpour to finish. There is just one more outdoor scene which we'll film in a couple of weeks time and this time the weather will be watched far more closely.

Aside from that, there are 3 scenes left to film. After that it's on to the editing suite and waiting for the music to arrive from England!
